The life of a woman in rural Kenya is a hard one – no running water, no available fuel or electricity for cooking, no transport to the nearest market, hardly any access to basic medical care.

Kenana Knitters generates two forms of sustainable income for the women:

Spinners – regional wool is hand-spun and dyed with plant dys.

Knitters - magical soft toys are knitted, then sold nationally and internationally.

The women can also spin and knit while working from home, in addition to their daily tasks.

The money the women earn through their work at Kenana Knitters, goes directly into their hands, which enormously improves the quality of life for the women and their families.
